The Director of Technical Services will oversee a team of direct and indirect reports, including research fellows, a lab manager, research scientists and a Technical Sales Manager, leading customer-facing research and technical support teams to drive growth across the pet nutrition ingredient portfolio. This role is responsible for designing and owning the overall R&D strategy and budget, aligning initiatives to customer needs and managing long-term innovation goals while representing the organization at industry conferences, trade shows and customer meetings to communicate product advantages and emerging trends in pet and animal nutrition. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in strategic development, R&D, technical leadership and team management, preferably within the companion animal industry. Candidates should hold a degree in animal science, food science, nutrition, biology, chemistry or a related technical discipline (M.S. preferred, Ph.D. ideal), with at least 10 years of industry experience and a minimum of five years leading technical services or innovation teams. The role requires approximately 50% travel and familiarity with technical systems such as Excel and formulation software.
Candidates in senior sales roles must leverage data management skills, interpersonal abilities and interdepartmental collaboration.
