The Portfolio/Credit Manager is responsible for the overall asset management and reporting of a loan portfolio, working closely with lenders, underwriters, relationship managers and the credit administration team to support the bank’s credit goals. This role collaborates with relationship managers on new loan requests by preparing preflight memos, term sheets, financial analyses and credit presentations, while also identifying and assessing key risks related to borrower performance, industry trends and other variables. The manager reviews loan structures to ensure appropriate risk mitigation, monitors portfolio trends, tracks borrower financials and covenant compliance and communicates adverse developments proactively. For existing customers, the Portfolio/Credit Manager conducts annual reviews to assess asset quality, analyze financial statements, rent rolls, project reports and stress-testing results, maintaining a thorough understanding of borrower relationships and credit exposure. The role also participates in client calls, prepares documentation and makes recommendations supported by detailed analysis. Additional responsibilities include ensuring compliance with credit policies, relevant banking regulations and BSA/AML requirements. The position requires 3-5 years of experience in commercial or business lending, strong financial and credit analysis skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office and database systems, excellent communication abilities, strong research and analytical skills and the capability to work independently while managing multiple priorities with high attention to detail.
