The Charles Aris Strategy Practice rebrands as ‘Strategy & Go-to-Market’
In July, Charles Aris announced its Strategy Practice will expand to serve clients in need of go-to-market roles, signaling further alignment in recruiter expertise as well as strategy, sales and marketing functions.
Over the past three years, ~25% of searches that the Strategy Practice completed had a go-to-market spike. Go-to-market roles can include sales, marketing, product, brand, pricing, commercial, partnerships, business development, salesforce effectiveness and more.
“Go-to-market roles are highly strategic and require strong cross-functional capabilities,” said Steven Stewart, vice president and practice leader at Charles Aris. “These qualities are table stakes for the talent pool we’ve built relationships with for over 20 years, so there are a lot of synergies we feel will benefit our clients with our expanded focus on go-to-market.”
Since its founding in 2003, the Charles Aris Strategy Practice has completed over 1,400 placements with a primary focus on recruiting current or former strategy consultants for corporate and private equity clients and has a network of over 110,000 candidates.

While a portion of go-to-market positions prefer candidates from a consulting background, the practice is now expanding to serve clients in need of true go-to-market industry experts who may not have any prior consulting experience.
“We’ve built deep relationships with candidates who are highly pedigreed, often with an MBA from a top academic institution, academy training from regarded corporate training programs and/or top-tier strategy consulting experience,” said Ashlee Wagner, vice president at Charles Aris.
“Over the years, we’ve hung our hat on our ability to recruit current and former consultants, which we will continue to do; however, we’re excited to go deeper with a new pool of candidates without consulting experience that we’ve already gotten to know well,” Ashlee added.
The strategy and go-to-market team will continue operating within its core industry focus areas, which include asset management, consumer products, financial services, healthcare, hospitality, industrials, life sciences, private equity, retail and TMT.
