Our client is a rapidly growing private equity-backed group purchasing organization focused on industrial businesses that need thousands of supplies and services. The Head of Corporate Development and Strategy will report directly into the CEO and lead the M&A functions and strategic initiatives for the company. The right candidate will have 2-3 years of investment banking experience, 2-3 years in consulting and 3-5 years of corporate development experience. In addition, prior experience in GPO (supply chain / procurement) or software / SaaS is preferred.
Each of these titles entails a different tier of responsibility, which often correlates with the hiring organization’s size and strategic M&A plan.
While the IT services industry has retained profitability by providing software systems, SaaS continues to gain traction by selling competing products in a web-based platform.
A sharpened demand for strategic product sourcing has led to a more defined procurement role within supply chain functions.
